Orientation week for the wintersemester 2021/22

Now that the pandemic situation has changed to such an extent that face-to-face events are possible again to a limited extent, we would like to present the programme for the orientation week to the new first-year students here. Since the Freshers' Week was very sparse in the last semesters, we would also like to invite the second and third semesters. This way, you can get to know the campus of the TUM School of Life Science a bit more and make contact with the surrounding classes.

In order to keep track of everybody and to comply with all hygiene regulations, we would like to ask you to register for the events you would like to attend. You will find the links to the respective Doodle surveys below!

We look forward to seeing you all and wish you a great start to your studies at TUM :)

Hygiene arrangements

All events that we offer you here are held under the 3G rules. Therefore, only those who can prove with a certificate that they are recovered, vaccinated or tested negative can participate. We will check the respective certificates at the beginning of each event.

Those who are not recovered or not yet vaccinated can be tested directly at the university in the Schnelltest Center Weihenstephan.

Whatsapp Groups for each study course

After we received many requests from you as to whether there are already Whatsapp groups for the individual study programmes, we have created four groups for you. You can access the groups via the QR codes below.
However, these groups are only intended for you as a communication platform. Please always send your questions to the student representatives via our email address or the contact form here on the homepage.

News Campustours

Because of the huge interest, we will divide all participants into several smaller groups.
The tours will start before or after one of the course-specific introductions. If you are attending these events anyway, we will pick you up there directly, but if you are coming to Freising especially for the campus tour, here are the starting points of each of the campus tours:

  • Tuesday 12.10, 11 a.m. - In front of the central lecture hall building (ZHG)
  • Thursday 14.10, 11 a.m. - In front of the Tentomax lecture hall 1
  • Thursday 14.10, 13:30 - In front of Tentomax lecture hall 3

We would also like to remind you of the hygiene rules that apply. The student council events are held under the 3G rules. This means that we check the respective certificates before the start of each event. Therefore, please bring a vaccination certificate, a recovered certificate or a current negative test certificate!

News city tour

Because of the huge interest, we will divide all participants of the city tour into several smaller groups. We will start at 18:30 on Thursday 14.10 at Freising train station. From there on we will walk around the city in the smaller groups.

Freising is famous for its bear figures and sculptures that can be seen all over the city.  On our tour we will pass some of these bears.
On such bear tours it is tradition to drink a schnapps or a beer per bear you "meet". Therefore, we would like to ask you to (spoiler alert) bring the shot glass from your  goddie bag so that we can go without plastic shot glasses.
We'll provide the first shot of peppermint schnaps, but if you want, feel free to bring another beer or wine to go.

We would also like to remind you of the hygiene rules that apply. The student council events are held under 3G rules. This means that we will check the respective certificates before the start of each event.  Therefore, please bring a vaccination certificate, a recovery certificate or a recent negative test certificate!

In case you can't make any of the dates for the tours, we have compiled two maps; one of Freising and on of the campus. They both show some places you might want to visit on your own.

Have fun exploring!

Schedule

Below you will find the events that we have planned for you. We have created a "timetable" for each study programme. So click through until you find the right one for you.

Sign in sheets for the events

You have absolutely overwhelmed us with the registrations for our events. Unfortunately, we have to close the registration now because we simply don't have enough people to take over.
If you haven't got a place yet, why not organise yourselves in the Whatsapp groups with fellow students and do your own campus tour or city tour.

You can also do a bra crawl using the pubs marked on the city map.
